Yesterday Volvo Buses launched of the 7900 city bus series with another new film called Farathon.

7900 has a new contemporary design harmonising with the 8900 intercity/ regional bus introduced last year.

One of the more prominent changes to the previous 7700 is the further weight decrease that we have achieved. The front structure is in steel and so is the rear but the mid-section is made by a bolted framework of aluminium. The weight of the 7900 Hybrid has been brought down by 550 kg as compared to the 7700 Hybrid. The new fuel consumption benchmark for the hybrid is now 37% as compared to the corresponding diesel bus.

Volvos hybrid bus range has proven to be the tough workhorse it was designed to become. Find out more about the world’s first Farathon at: www.farathon.com
